When I had my first son, I ended my job as a teacher at a high school to stay at home with him. I soon found out that I could continue making money each month with different stay at home jobs. Most of my favorite companies that offer these types of positions require that you have a bachelor’s degree in any field and some experience with working with students, such as being a tutor or a teacher.

A great stay at home side hustle is selling electronics that you don’t want anymore. Places such as Backflip make it sure easy to sell unwanted electronics and get paid within 24 hours.

When I first got pregnant with my first son, my husband and I sold things such as electronics that we didn’t want anymore and made $300 fairly quickly. Additionally, the Chat Shop has openings for online chat reps on their website as well. You have to go through an interview process with this company which required a phone and live chat interview. The average pay rate is between $10 and $14/hr for online chat reps at Chat Shop.

29. Medical Phone Support

Some popular online jobs in the medical field are medical billing, coding, and triage customer service. If you have a background in health care and want to work from home, this is a great field to look into for work.

It’s also common for them to specialize in three to four languages, but it’s not required for most companies. A great company to look into if you are looking to become a translator is Cyracom.

How To Start Your Stay At Home Journey

1. Map Out Your Goals

One of the first things you want to do is map out your goals. Figure out the area of focus you want to focus on and do a lot of research.

For example, if I were interested in finding data entry work-from-home jobs, I would research where to find those types of jobs online. I would also research the average salary of a Data Entry Clerk to better understand how much I could make each month.

2. Asset Your Area Of Focus

Think about all the skills and talents you have. Asset each skill and talent and decide which industry would fit you best. For example, if you are great at dancing and singing, maybe becoming a singing coach or performance coach in your home might be a great stay-at-home job for you.

3. Review Your Availability

Another area you want to focus on is your availability. Since having children, I have noticed that I have to set up a schedule that doesn’t keep me from them all day long. So, review your schedule and figure out which work hours will work best for you and your family.

Working in the morning works best for me because my husband is also at home in the morning and can take on the extra load while I work from home.

4. Decide On Children’s Activities or Care

If you will be alone with your children while working from home, maybe consider hiring a babysitter or a nanny to help with your children. You can also consider finding daily activities for your children while you work from home.
