Are you currently looking for legit online surveys to make money from home or looking for a way to earn gift cards online? One of the best ways to make extra money in your spare time is by completing different surveys online. While completing surveys won’t’ make a person rich it is a great way to pay for things such as your car gas every single month.

About a year ago I started looking into different survey sites to make extra money and some of the ones I found turned out to be AMAZING.  While building my blog + business I was able to make extra money and receive gift cards from different survey sites daily.

Last year, I was able to pay for all my Christmas shopping  + more with the help of this side hustle! So, as a result, I have compiled a list of very popular survey sites that pay well and that are completely LEGITIMATE!

(Remember if a survey site ever asks you for money upfront– RUN!!!! I have NEVER had to pay any survey site any money.)

Below are the best survey sites to make money from home. The survey sites I list below are LEGIT and have all been tested. You will not have to pay to sign up for any of the survey sites listed in this post.

6. Opinion Outpost

This site is a really awesome site if you are looking for surveys to make money from home.  With this survey site, they do pay in points, but you can convert your points to cash. They have a PayPal option and you can cash out pretty low at 100 points which will equal 10 dollars.

They seem to have a lot of surveys and I have gotten paid from them via PayPal but the only downside is that many people don’t qualify for some of the surveys so you have to check in every day to see what’s new and apply a lot.

Pros: You can enter a $10,000 prize draw every time you complete a survey.

Payment Method: They pay in points that you redeem for gift cards and cash.

When Do You Get Paid: You get paid when you hit 100 points or more.

7. Mindswarms

If you don’t mind doing live video surveys this is the one for you. Mindswarms pays between $20 and $50 dollars for answering about 1 to 7 questions about products. I have been paid with this survey company a ton of times and I love it.

It ’s definitely one of my favorites because I love recording videos and sharing my experiences about topics such as blogging, home life, and more.

Nonetheless, it’s still a great way to earn an extra $50 dollars a month. What can you do with an additional $50 bucks a month? 🙂

Pros: You can earn $50 per video survey.

Payment Method: You can get paid via Paypal

When Do You Get Paid: You get paid 24hrs after completing the video surveys.

Paid Survey FAQ

Can you really get paid by completing surveys?

Yes! A lot of brands love to get an understanding of what real humans like so your opinions really matter.

So survey companies will actually pay you for your time and opinions.

Some survey companies pay their members via gift cards and some have the option of getting cash. In the list above you will be able to see which ones pay via gift cards, cash, or both.

How do online surveys pay you?

So, this will vary depending on the survey company. Below are some ways that survey companies pay their members

  • Cash via Paypal
  • Gift cards to places such as Target, Amazon, Walmart, etc.
  • Sweepstakes entries- Points that enter in sweepstakes to win cash and or prizes

How much can a person get paid to complete surveys online?

While surveys are a great side hustle you probably can’t make a full-time income from completing surveys.

Some survey sites have a low payout and there are some with great payouts (Swagbucks, Harris Poll Online and Pinecone Research)

I make around $200 per month from Swagbucks but I also use them as a search engine and send referrals to their site.

In order to maximize your earnings, you can sign up for multiple surveys site and complete a lot of surveys on a weekly basis. You also have to keep in mind that some surveys require different demographics so you everyone might not qualify.

How long does it take to complete surveys online?

This will vary depending on the person. One survey might take someone 20 minutes but might take another person 60 minutes.

So this really depends on the person taking the survey.

On average a person can expect about 10-25 minutes to complete different surveys.

What type of questions will I have to answer in surveys?

The questions that you have to answer will vary depending on which surveys you qualify for.  When you sign up to complete surveys one of your main responsibilities is to be completely honest and brands.

The questions that you will have to answer will be questions that give the marketer an overview of how you react to certain products and brands. When I did a survey for baby pampers some of the questions I was asked were the following

  • What’s your favorite brand of pampers?
  • How long did your child wear pampers?
  • Would you only buy a specific type of pampers?
  • What makes the pampers you use the best one?

So, search through the different questions to see which surveys you like best.

What is my favorite survey site?

My favorite survey site is  Swagbucks!

Swagbucks is one of the funniest surveys to make money online because you can earn points in so many ways. Some of the ways you can earn points on the Swagbucks website are listed below

  • Surveys
  • Watching Videos
  • Signing up for Offers
  • Using Swagbucks as Your Search Engine
  • From Your Referrals

How can I tell if a survey site is a scam?

While the survey sites I listed above are all legit they are some out there that are complete SCAM.

So beware of any survey sites that ask you to send money of any kind. If a survey company asks you to send money, totally fun!

Don’t give them a dime!

Legit survey sites will not ask you for any money to send in order to make money.

Some things to look for in survey sites that are a scam:

  • They request personal information such as credit card numbers or a social security number.
  • They ask for money in order for you to sign up.
  • They promise that you can make thousands of dollars in a short amount of time.

So, if you are looking to make extra money right from your home the survey sites listed in this post are all amazing and easy to sign up for. Remember you will have to put in some effort and be honest about your answers when completing surveys.

Thanks for this post. I am currently trying to find a job and I think these sites are a good way to earn extra cash. I tried swagbucks but didn’t like it that much. But that’s because I’d rather get the money than gift cards.

Thanks for taking time to put together these useful suggestions to make extra money.

I like YouGov as the surveys are interesting, often political related. Also, for mobile surveys, QuickThoughts is a good option. They have an app available for Android and iOS.

    Hi Latasha,

I am actually considering using one of these sites to help me earn while I build up the traction to my blog. Right now, I am working from home as a WordPress freelancer, but between you and I, I don’t really want to do that anymore.

That’s actually why I started my blog. Was to move away from freelancing. But it does take some time to build traction to your blog.

I’ll definitely take a look around and see which one of these I want to give a try.

Thanks for taking the time to put these together for us. It’s definitely helpful to have everything in one area instead of spending hours trying to find a side hustle online.

    Have a great day 🙂

    Susan
