Being in the creative industry I know it can get hard waiting for your next paying job. So that leaves a lot of Creatives wondering how they will make money to pay bills or just to enjoy life. I am all about finding ways to side hustle and make extra money while on your creative journey so as a result, I put together over 12 things anyone can do to make extra money without getting a full-time job!

1. Sell Stuff
So you got unwanted items around your house that you don’t want anymore, huh? If so you can totally sell those items and earn extra money. One of the fastest ways to make extra money is by selling old or unwanted items in your own home.
My husband and I have sold unwanted items from our house on places such as LetGo, Gazelle, Swap, and Offerup. You can also sell unwanted books online on websites such as Bookscouter & Cash4Book and get cash-back. Lastly, you can sell things such as old CD’s, phones, DVD’s and games on places like DeCluttr. This site will buy your old items and you will get cash-back!
2. Get Paid To Watch Videos & Give Your Opinion
Did you know you can get paid just by watching videos? Yes! I was shocked when I found out that a person can watch videos and get paid too! But you can get paid to watch videos on a site called Swagbucks!

3. Start A Blog
By far my favorite way to make extra money is starting a blog! Since I have started my blog I have been able to work from home and make more money than I did at my last full-time job. Crazy, right? So, if you have a topic you are passionate about you can totally start a blog and get your voice heard!

4. Rent out A Room In Your House
If you are looking to make extra money quickly you can rent out a room in your house. So, If you have the extra space in your home, you can totally rent out a room with a company called Airbnb and make extra money!
I have a ton of friends who use Airbnb and love it. As always please make sure to read all the rules and guidelines. 5. Get Paid To Drive
Another quick way to make extra money without a job is by driving your car! Yes! Now, this will vary from city to city but I know a lot of different people who make great extra income with Uber, and Lyft. by picking up and dropping people off. One of my friends makes over $1000 a month driving with Uber! I was shocked when I found out how much he makes each month!
If picking up folks isn’t your thing you can deliver food to others in your town! Places such as Instacart lets you take orders for people and pick up their items from local grocery stores. You can also deliver packages for Amazon Flex and be your own boss and make extra money. Like most side hustles you will be able to create your own schedule and have more flexibility in your day. In order to work with Amazon Flex you do need an Android or iPhone.
Additionally, if you have a bike you can rent it out on places like Spinlister and get paid!
6. Participate in Focus Groups
Focus groups are another great way to side hustle. A couple of years ago I participated in a focus group for a new mascara product. I had to test out the new mascara for a week and give my opinion of the product at the end of the study.
I also received a $50.00 Visa Gift card for my opinions on the product! Woo hoo! I normally like to do about 1 to 2 Focus groups a month. Here are my favorite focus group websites. Focus Group Global, 20|20 Panel, FieldWork, Intelli-Shop, and Confero
7. Get Paid To Lose Weight
Yes, you can actually get paid to lose weight! When I told my sister about this idea she was super excited! With sites such as Healthywage you can earn up to $10000 with the weight loss challenges and contests. I don’t know about you but that just makes losing weight funnier, haha!
8. Get Paid To Cook
If you love to cook and/or host then you can cook to make extra money too! Places such as EatWith hires hosts and chefs that, want to set their own hours, menus and scheduling. On top of that, you are able to make extra money cooking for others. I am getting hungry thinking about it. =)
9. Pet Sit
Love hanging out with dogs or cats? Wellllll, you can totally pet sit for others in your town and make extra money. Pretty cool, right? Rover is an awesome company that lets you sign up to become a pet sitter or dog walker.
10. Rent out Baby Stuff
So, I just recently had my first child so when I heard about this awesome opportunity I got excited. If you have baby items such as strollers, car seats and other items that children might need you can actually rent the stuff out to local families during their trip. 11. Become Rent A Friend
Can you believe you can sign up to get paid to be someone friend? Yes! You can. Places like RentAFriend will pay you to hang out with others around your town. A person can get paid an hourly fee of $10 or more to go out to social events with other people. When you sign up for the site you can also act as a tour guide for people who are new to your town and help them get around.
12. Sell Your Unwanted make up
Do you have a ton of unwanted makeup? If so you can totally sell it on Glambot! On Glambot they will send you money for your new or unwanted makeup! How cool is that? When I heard about this site I got excited because I have a lot of unwanted makeup or makeup that I tried and didn’t like as much. Oh! And the workers at Glambot authenticates and sanitizes all products before selling.
14. Test Websites Online
Testing website online is one of the easiest ways to make extra money online. Basically, companies pay you to test out their websites and give your opinion of the website. Pay varies for each company but most pay between $10- 25 dollars per assignment and most tests take around 20 minutes to complete. Different companies normally pay via PayPal. My favorite companies are UserTesting, Enroll, YouEye, and WhatUsersDo.
If you like testing websites online you can also look into being a search engine evaluator. You can become a search engine evaluator for different companies online. Job openings vary, so make sure to check out each site to see what opportunities are currently available. Some search engine job sites are Leapforce, Appen, and LionBridge.
15. Refer Friends To Rakuten
Rakuten is a cashback site where you can earn money back from your online purchases. When you shop online through their website you get money back. One of the greatest ways to earn on Rakuten is by referring your friends and family. When you refer 4 qualifying friends to the Rakuten site and they make their first purchase through the site you will get paid $100! Check out Rakuten here!
