6 Ways to use social media to boost your blog + biz
I could seriously talk about the different social media platforms ALL day… Not only is using social media to grow my business one of my favorite things to do it’s also one of the best ways for me to promote and connect with other bloggers and online entrepreneurs. Did you know that the first webinar I did in May was with someone I met in a Facebook Group? We soon found out that we lived in the SAME town. #MindBlown. Since then we have developed a great friendship and I am looking forward to teaming up with her again.
Also, because of social media, I was able to grow my monthly page views from less than 20,000 a month to over 60,000 page views a month and growing! I even grew my email list from 200 subscribers to over 1k in less than 2 months using social media.
So, In this post, I will be sharing some ninja ways you can use social media to boost your blog traffic like WHOA!
Let’s GO! 🙂
Add A Call To Action To Your Bios
Putting a call to action in your social media bios is one of the easiest ways to direct visitors back to your website. A call to action provides direction and instructs your visitors to take action on your page. For example, on my Pinterest page, I have a call to action at the end of my bio that leads my readers back to my website. ( See example below)
When the new visitors get to my website they can sign up for my email list and gain access to my creative resource library which is filled with worksheets, tutorials and more to help them grow their blog+ biz and make extra money. I make sure to give my readers an incentive for going back to my website and my incentive is gaining full access to my resource library.
Some call to action incentive examples are free checklists, guides, tutorials and more. You can also make the call to action something simple such as a new blog post or a signup form for your latest webinar. Since you are able to change the link whenever you like, you can always update it so that it will send your visitors to a specific page. Some examples would be:

Schedule Your Posts Ahead of Time
In order to stay consistent on the different social media platforms that I am active on I signed up for three schedulers, BoardBooster, HootSuite, and Tailwind.
Since being consistent on social media is super important to growing your blog it’s so important to find the best ones that fit your needs. If you’re not consistent, your readers might forget about your content. So, to keep them up to date with what’s going on it’s good to be consistent with when you put something new out. In order to stay consistent, it’s good to have social media schedulers. By signing up for schedulers such as Tailwind, Board Booster, Co -Scheduler and HootSuite you can write up your post in advance. I currently use BOTH tailwind and Board Booster and I save a ton of time because I normally pin throughout the day! Normally,

Promote Your Latest Webinars or Events On Your Platforms
When you are hosting a webinar or have a new blog post up make sure to post it up on your social media accounts and in Facebook promo threads. For example, on Instagram, I actually put up a post that talked about the launch of my new site and I got a ton of engagement on that post.
What I have noticed is that people love to support you if you build a solid connection and Instagram is a great platform to build a solid connection with your audience on.
Use Facebook Groups
Everyone knows I absolutely LOVE LOVE LOVE Facebook Groups! Not only can you grow your monthly engagement on your blog with Facebook groups but you can also connect with other bloggers + biz owners. To me, those friendships are GOLD!
In Facebook groups, you can participate in the group’s daily promo threads to help boost your traffic back to your site. Some of my favorite Facebook groups are: Creative Ninja Nation, Growing Social Media for Bloggers, & Bloggers Unite on Pinterest.
Participate in Twitter Chats
Have you ever heard of Twitter Chats before? Wow, they are amazing and I love them. Twitter chats are conversations on a predetermined topics that bring people within’ your niche together to answer questions and connect with each other. They are normally weekly, bi weekly or monthly. They are open for anyone to join and they normally last about an hour or so.
In order to become a participant within a group, you have to use a specific hashtag. The host administrating the chat chooses the hashtags within the tweet chat. They normally promote their Twitter chats with the specific hashtag via social media and to their email lists. When the Twitter chat starts the host normally ask 5 to 7 questions that the participants in the chat can answer.
The easiest way to participate in a Twitter chat is to go to TweetChat.com then enter the #hashtag associated with the Twitter chat and authorize TweetChat to login into your Twitter account and start chatting.
Some of my favorite Twitter Chats are listed below
Mondays:
#CreativeCoffeHour

Be Active On Pinterest and Join Tailwind Tribes
Pinterest is seriously a GAME CHANGER, yo! It’s one of the largest search engines in the world! Yup, one of the largest search engines in the world.
The results I get from Pinterest are simply amazing and I have seen so many bloggers get over 100,000 page views from using this platform alone. This platform is amazing because you don’t need a huge following to be successful on Pinterest. One of my most repinned pins was first repinned by someone with only 46 followers and that pin has been shared over 7k times just from her repinning it to her 46 followers. If you looking to take your Pinterest game to the next level, check out this post. This post shares the top things you should do on Pinterest to rapidly grow your traffic and following like a boss.
Along with using Pinterest, you can also use Tailwind Tribes to help boost your traffic to your site. Tailwind Tribes are part of Tailwind.com and to me are very similar to being apart of a Pinterest group board. With Tailwind Tribes you can start or join boards with other bloggers + biz owners and pin each other pins from Pinterest. Being apart of tribes can help get your pins repinned on Pinterest which could possibly mean more traffic being directed to your site.
You can find Tailwind tribes in this Facebook Pinterest Group: Tailwind Tribes For Pinterest

It is necessary to be consistent with your content and share them when that is expected from you, give readers a reason and hint when to come back again.
Linkedin is also a great platform for this purpose, as those who are active on Linkedin are actually eager to learn and prosper in what they do. Getting into relevant Linkedin groups and sharing quality content is a good way to grow your blog.
Thanks Latasha!
Thanks for this insight Jarvee! Never thought about Linkedin. But, like you said, “Linkedin is also a great platform for this purpose, as those who are active on Linkedin are actually eager to learn and prosper in what they do. ”
I had no idea there were groups on there also…. So much to learn.
Wow- these are great ideas! Pinterest is my #1 referrer. I need to concentrate more on that platform! I pinned to remember these tips!
my biggest challenge is scheduling enough posts and far enough out! great list!
Hi Latasha,
Thanks much for this post.
I learnt something new TweetChats. I must confess that I never heard about it till now.
So thanks again for this.
Great tips and suggestions Latasha! I hadn’t thought about TwitterChats, though I have increased my activities there. I appreciate the article.
Love these tips, Natasha! Especially Twitter chats – #createlounge is my fave. (And sadly, #CreativeCoffeeHour is no more, though I used to love that one too.) I actually use TweetDeck for Twitter chats, though; I’ll have to check out TweetChat.com now.
I still haven’t started scheduling my posts. I should definitely use the facebook schedule feature, so I can put it on auto pilot.
thanks for sharing!! I recently discovered the amazingness of scheduling xD it’s change my life!!!!
I really need to try out tailwind! I just started hearing about tailwind tribes.
Love these tips on social media. My favorite is certainly the facebook communities:)
Great idea to leave a call to action in the bio! ALL your ideas are inspirational, but I know I’ll do that one first!

I would like to be active on pinterest to gain more traffic there, thanks for sharing this…
Excellent tips! Especially the tweeter chat tips! I thought tweeter chat wasn’t a thing any more and turns out it and yes it would be a great way to connect with people in my niche in a meaningful way!!
Cool but essential.
While I have most of it covered, I have never participated in a Twitter chat. I should put that on my To-Do list for this week. Thanks for sharing the list of resources.
I looove Pinterest a lot. I’m still so new to the whole blogging world and I am trying to up my Pin game as much as possible. Facebook groups have also help a lot too.
Okay, now I’m excited to get in on Twitter Chats. I’m not that big on Twitter since it just doesn’t really feel as natural as some of the other social media sites do to me, but I’m trying!
I’m all for Facebook communities and I already have a CTA on my page to link back to my site.
Love these tips. I’ve been looking for some new Twitter chats so I’ll definitely be checking those out!
