10 Creative Podcasts To Listen To Grow Your Online Business

1.   Problogger

The Problogger podcast is done by Darren Rowse himself who’s revered in the blogging world as one of the greats. He’s the granddaddy of how to blog blogs, having been at this since 2004 when most of us didn’t know yet what a blog was.

If you ask any of the big bloggers who they turned to for blogging tips back in the day, they will probably mention Darren Rowse’s blog, Problogger. His podcasts cover everything from finding content to blog about, ad placements and general life as a blogger.

2. Online Marketing Made Easy

This podcast is brought to us by Amy Porterfield who touts herself as a Facebook expert. However, her podcasts cover everything from SEO to email marketing and social media and her podcast is very practical with actionable tips that any level of blogger can take to up-level their blog. I love how some of her episodes really hone in on motivational money topics as well, helping bloggers to get out of their own way and focus on what matters the most when growing a blogging business.

3.  Entrepreneurs Journey

This podcast is by Yaro Starak who has an incredible blogging journey. It answers a question I’ve always wondered, what happens when my blog makes it big and I’m a millionaire? How will my blog journey continue then? His podcast gives very advanced tips for bloggers who are serious about making money but his story is incredible.

4.   Do You Even Blog

This is one of the best blogging creative podcasts! Pete McPherson interviews other successful bloggers on his podcast and has a free training course that will help you to set up a podcast if you’re interested in adding this to your blog marketing mix. His tips are sound and actionable and he interviews the big guys. I especially loved his episode with Silas and Grace of Chasing Foxes who have over a million page views monthly on a blog that has no niche!

5.  Blogged

Blogged is a podcast by My Haute Society which focuses on influencer marketing. They interview industry experts on anything from photography tips, Instagram growth, and pitching brands. It’s a great podcast to check out if you have a strong following online (or want to build one) and struggle with monetizing it. The episode on photography tips will help you to take better photos so you can rely less on stock photography which will help you to stand out in a sea of bloggers.

6.  Smart Passive Income

Cause, who doesn’t want passive income?! Out of the creative podcasts, this is one of the best ones. Pat Flynn of the website of the same name has done very well for himself online and goes into great detail on how you can do this too. He also interviews other successful bloggers on his weekly podcast. This is great for any online business owner, not just bloggers. His latest episodes focus on affiliate marketing which is what many bloggers baffle with when it comes to monetizing their blogs. There’s a wealth of information in these episodes that will make you feel as if you just completed a course!

7. Being Boss

I love this creative podcast because it goes in on your mindset and is very inspirational. It helps any business owner, anyone, really with the mindset needed to be better at business and life in general and will help you to achieve your goals. Ran by Emily Thompson and Kathleen Shannon, the podcast features smaller “minisodes” as well with quick tips that are punchy and to the point mixed in with longer interviews with online boss women and just coffee chat between themselves. Look for their episode on pitching yourself!

8.  The Lively Show

This is one of my favorite creative podcasts! Jess Lively hosts this podcast which isn’t just about blogging but goes into personal growth, relationships, careers and everything in-between. Her style of interview is really in-depth which I appreciate as a reader.

It’s one thing to get tips but it’s another to really get the juicy sauce of the hows and the why. She’s also on a very inspirational personal journey in her own business and is motivational for any blogger who wants to live that abundant digital nomad life to watch.

9.   How They Blog Podcast

This one is very specific to bloggers and is done by Kat Lee. She interviews successful bloggers on everything from traffic growth, the mindset required for successful blogging, blog marketing tips and even what to do when you feel like you need a break from blogging.

I love that this podcast gets into the nitty-gritty of blogging and always come away with a host of action items to explore for my own blog. Recent episodes have tackled topics like email marketing, specifically what to put in your emails to your subscribers, Pinterest strategies, being a better writer, and overall blogging strategies. I particularly loved the episode about blogging successfully about any niche where Trina Holden spoke about becoming successful online surrounding the exciting topic of yogurt.

10.  Joblogues

This twice-per-month podcast is more of a personal finance and career advice podcast but its jam-packed with actionable tips for the online entrepreneur as well.

We need to treat our blogs as a business and this podcast will help you to stay on top of your money. It’s also charmingly funny, girl talk between cohosts Joymarie Parker and Cortney Cleveland who keep it real about being about your money. When they’re not podcasting together they’re interviewing experts on topics like higher learning, mental health, investment, and personal finance.

11.  Simple Pin Media

Pinterest is a platform that bloggers rely on heavily for driving traffic and this podcast is all about mastering the platform. Kate Ahl has mastered the platform and built a business helping others to utilize it for business purposes.

She gives her own tips plus interviews other successful Pinterest masters on their tips for this platform. Recent episodes dig into the magical topic of keywords on Pinterest and how using them can bring you massive amounts of traffic to your blog.

12. The Friend Zone

The Friend Zone isn’t about blogging at all. Friends Dustin Ross, Francheska Medina of HeyFranHey & Assanté describe their podcast as being about health and wellness, helping to clear out the mustiness from your mind. Fran gives the most useful eating and living well tips and the commentary among them makes for a light and fun listen.

From this list of podcasts, you’re sure to find some inspiration to motivate you wherever you are on your blogging journey or in life in general. From this list, you will find bloggers who may be in your niche as well that you can follow and keep tabs on to see what’s working and what’s not in your field.

Protip: if you find a blogger on a podcast that you connect with and they’re in our niche, head over to their blog and scope it out. You will undoubtedly find inspiration to make your own blog better, from the type of freebies they offer to the way their blog is laid out to what they write about most often or is most popular.

A podcast is also a great way to repurpose your blog’s content and market it to a whole new audience. This can be a great way to give new life to some of the epic pieces currently sitting in your blog’s archives gathering dust. Simply jumping on a mic, recording the outline of your blog and discussing it on a deeper level and then publishing within the original blog post or a whole new one while pushing it to iTunes and other platforms can help you find a whole new audience who may have never found your content through the methods you’re currently using. There are loads of people who prefer to listen to a podcast than read a lengthy blog post. One of the podcasters mentioned above has a free course to get you started if you have no clue how podcasting even works.

Do you have any favorite podcasts that motivate you in some way? Share them below and let me know why they’re so great! I’m always in search of new content to consume.
